Its been a long long time!
Having just come back from vacation I’m feeling rejuvenated, so I decided to write a short post.
On my long 14 hour plane ride home from my trip, I was given a chance to perform a kind act. A woman was sitting in front of me with an infant and her husband was kneeling down next to her attending to the baby. It didn’t even dawn on be that his seat was elsewhere until I saw him looking up at me with a concerned face. At that moment I knew exactly what he was going to ask me.
I took off my head phones and said “Hello.” He of course asked me if I wouldn’t mind changing seats so he could be closer to his newborn child. The people next to his wife were together and understandably didn’t want to split up for such a long flight. I asked him where he was sitting and he pointed to a middle seat. This is my most hated seat in a plane and it was a long flight but I just couldn’t say no. How could I keep this man from his wife and newborn? We switched seats when it was feasible and all was fine.
At the end of my flight a stewardess came to me and handed me some Qatar Airways branded playing cards and informed me that the gentleman I switched seats with bought them for me as gratitude for the switch. I looked over to him and gave him a wave and nod of thanks and that was the last time we saw each other.

I got a nice email from an intern at www.bradaronson.com who directed me to a great site about “Inspirational stories, good news & a focus on the positive.” I was “inspired” by his site and wanted to share it with others.
Here is a link to a great post of his: Acts of Kindness

You don’t have to be a nerd to appreciate this great customer service story…but if you are, you will enjoy it all the more.
Enjoy the story: If only all customer service reps were like Cpt. Mike from Netflix

I had just finished pumping gas at the Hess station on Airport Rd when an older gentlemen comes up to me with a gas can. He said his car broke down and he doesn’t have any cash and asked if could he have a couple of gallons of gas. The pump had just shut off so I could not use my credit card. I looked in my pocket and saw I had some cash on me so how could I say no. I pumped a couple of gallons and he asked if he could have just one more. With the high price of gas, it was $10.21 just for 3 gallons. He was very thankful and said “what goes around comes around.” When I went in to pay the man at the counter was wondering what was going on. I explained it to him and he only asked for the $10.00.

My friend Brian and I went mountain biking today and he performed a kind act for me, even if he didn’t know it. I had gone over my handle bars earlier in the day and because he felt so bad for me, later in the ride he went over his as well. Im sure he did this so that I would fell less embarrassed about my fall; Such a kind gesture. He also fell in fornt of a couple of kids, thus making it more embarrassing. He fell in front of the kids to even up with my fall in front of kids at the same trail from a prior ride.
Thanks for risking your health to make me feel better Brian!

I had a kinda crazy day yesterday and my friend Kate was there to back me up all night at work. If it weren’t for her my night would have been 100% more stressful,

A leader is best when people barely know he exists, when his work is done, his aim fulfilled, they will say: we did it ourselves.
